The development of a tohu for Te Auaunga / Oakley Creek came about through ongoing conversations between Puketāpapa Local Board and local iwi about the awa. Resilio Studio were engaged by Auckland Council and Puketāpapa, Albert Eden and Whau Local Boards to work with iwi, council staff, Friends of Oakley Creek and the three local boards through which the awa flows to develop design guidelines for how the tohu can be implemented in a range of applications along the length of the creek and through the catchment, clearly identifying reference and whakamana of the awa. We are currently working with council to implement the first phase of tohu applications along Te Auaunga. We are currently working with Council Parks staff to develop an implementation plan for the Puketāpapa area.
