Resilio was engaged to produce a landscape concept and detailed design for the restoration of an 830m section of Rawiri Stream located in Hobsonville. The Rawiri Stream project aims to maximise the ecological value of the stream and provide landscape amenity and access for the local community through the integration with a recreational trail. Resilio developed a landscape strategy which proposes a range of nodes and thresholds along the stream, which respond to the varying landscape characters and ecological niches. Resilio was engaged to help identify engineered, ecological and landscape enhancement opportunities, as well as celebrate the proposed engineering interventions and employ re-use to provide seating, signage and wayfinding elements derived from site items to be demolished (culverts) or vegetation to be cleared (Macrocarpa timber). In addition the expertise of the Resilio team was employed to aid in establishing an appropriate ecological planting strategy for the 40m wide riparian corridor. Resilio Studio will be providing detailed design and construction observation for Rawiri Stream beginning June 2018.
