Aning Kuswinarni
"How we treat our land, how we build upon it, how we act toward our air and water, in the long run, will tell what kind of people we really are."
Aning is an architect, landscape designer and artist with a passion for design which enhances both ecosystem health and community well-being - refined over 12 years of working experience in Indonesia, Singapore and New Zealand. As an architect in Indonesia, her recognition of the need for a more thoughtful and integrated design approach in the built environment inspired a career shift to landscape and urban design. After graduating with a Masters, she joined one of Singapore’s leading landscape architecture firms, working on a wide range of landscape and urban projects. In 2018, she represented the company at the UK Landscape Institute Awards 2018, receiving awards for two of her projects - Kranji Marshes and the Learning Forest.
Before moving to New Zealand, Aning studied a second Master's degree in Advanced Sustainable Design at the University of Edinburgh (UK) where she focused on the best ways to integrate ecology and conservation strategies into design and planning. Glad to find a design studio whose ethics and passions align so well with hers, Aning contributes to a wide range of projects at Resilio, guided by her design philosophy of finding that delicate balance between fulfilling human needs while also maintaining well-functioning ecosystems.
